Six for Three

Preacher Boy

In cart Not available Out of stock

Possibly the rawest and most immediate album of Preacher Boy's long career. An escape to a river in the mountains. 6 new songs written in 3 days, rich with the sights and sounds of the wild—rushing rapids, lone ghost pines, abandoned gold mines, gliding eagles, bleached white bones. Back in the city, the songs are tracked in a single day; all live, no overdubs. 4 mics. Funky little ribbon mic on the vocal. Another mic on a turn-of-the-century Washburn parlor guitar fitted with a 1960 DeArmond pickup. Third mic on a National amp putting out the pickup signal. Fourth mic, something for the stomping. "Six for Three" is country blues in the most literal of ways—raw, real, wild.
